We realize that everyone goes through tough times and we want you to know that we are here to help you and your pets. If you find yourself in need of food assistance for your pet, the Humane Society of Delaware County and its generous supporters are here to help. Pet food that has been donated to the shelter will be made available and you can obtain a bag of food each month.
Food pick-up is available by appointment at the HSDC. Please call the shelter at (740) 369-7387 to schedule a date and time for pick-up. A valid picture ID with a Delaware County address is required. Please note that our staff will be wearing masks and we ask that you observe social distancing of at least six feet and wear masks as well.
The HSDC also provides donated food to SourcePoint for the Meals on Wheels program, to other rescues, and community cat caretakers. In 2019, the HSDC provided over 52,000 pounds of food to our community. We envision a community where no pet goes hungry!
Please consider giving your unused dog or cat food to a family in need. Donations can be dropped off at the Humane Society of Delaware County. If it is not in the original packaging, please label it accordingly so we can make sure it goes to the proper animals.
OUR GOAL: All pets have access to food necessary to maintain a healthy life.
